The current demographic upheaval coupled with a growing lack of interest in careers in technology
have resulted in science and engineering students and technically minded school-leavers becoming a
rarity.
A number of small and medium-sized companies have formed a cooperative aimed at counteracting
this. Together they hope to interest more schoolchildren in the natural sciences, help them with
their choice of career and offer them ways of entering the high-tech world in which their companies
operate.
